This engineering bureau entered the market of design services in 2015, but has already earned a reputation as an experienced and reliable designer. In the portfolio of the company’s orders dozens of completed projects for shipowners and shipbuilders from different regions of Russia.

The working office of Design Bureau “Proship” is based in Severodvinsk, where the country’s largest nuclear shipbuilding center is located. Enterprises of the military-industrial complex, specialized institute and developed technological production became a source of experienced engineering personnel that formed the backbone of the design bureau engineering group.

Alexey Konovalov, Technical director of DB Proship, tells us:

– Today we perform the whole range of engineering works for our customers. Conceptual developments, PDSP, RCDs and plasma process documentation, modernization projects for large marine vessels, engineering calculations and studies. Special attention in the bureau is paid to our own design developments.

One such development is a floating modular platform project 1702 built at the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard in Arkhangelsk. The project was created after studying the experience of European shipbuilders. Such platforms are not designed in Russia.

The main feature of the construction is the modular design, which makes it possible to assemble and disassemble the platform in the immediate vicinity of the site. Modules of the platform correspond to the dimensions of a standard container, which makes it possible to deliver it to the place of operation in parts – by water, rail or road transport. GT North LLC was the customer of the project.

Floating repair dock of the R39PSh project created by the bureau for the group of companies “Optimist” also has an original solution. Customer required floating dock for repair of ships of different sizes without forced downtime of useful area. According to the project the dock consists of 2 independent sections used for docking as a single structure for the ships up to 70 m length or separately as two separate docks. The dock of such design will allow to flexibly distribute ships in the yard’s work schedule that makes it more cost-effective in comparison with the dock of the classical layout.

The first section went into operation in August of this year. With a lifting capacity of 600 tons, it is already used for ship repair up to 40 meters in length. Construction of the dock according to R39PSh project partially solves the problem of fleet maintenance in the territory of Arkhangelsk region.

– Today we are running several complex projects at the same time, maintaining a high pace of development and quality of design documentation,” emphasizes Alexey Konovalov. We have a large amount of work on the RCD for the construction of a new ship under the current contract. The bureau has completed dozens of orders for modernization of sea and river vessels, including the high-speed ferry Star of the Estonian company Tallink running between Tallinn and Helsinki, as well as fishing vessels, tugs and other types of vessels.
